EXPANSION

NEW STATE LOCATIONS

Adoption ARC has opened up a New Jersey office as of November, 2005. It is located at the Tarragon Office Center- 811 Church Road in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. We are happy to be located in the state and have used the office to meet with both birth and adoptive families.

Adoption ARC has also leased office space in Wilmington, Delaware in anticipation of our new Delaware license. This office space is located at the Silverside Office Center in Wilmington, De. Currently we are officially licensed and had our formal site visit on August 3, 2006.We are thrilled to soon- be a tri-state agency. We believe that there are many birth and adoptive families to be served by us. Our unique one-on-one counseling approach and immediate appointments are what set us apart from other agencies.

GUATEMALA PROGRAM

In addition to the Delaware license, we are now starting a Guatemala adoption program. After consultation which a leading international adoption attorney and several months of research, we believe that the country of Guatemala has many children in need of families. This is a country in Central American, right below Mexico who had been in a long war leaving the people quite impoverished and without resources. Birth control is not used or favored here so there are many children born to families who lack the resources to care for them. The population is considered "Mestizo" which is a Spanish/ Native ethnic mix. Spanish is the official language; yet many people still speak the indigenous tongue.

We will prepare you with the home study, all documents and lead you through this process. This is a private adoption system in Guatemala with attorneys being the ones who arrange everything. We are now working with one of the most highly esteemed lawyers in the country and he is looking for new American families. The children can be anywhere from 4-10 months of age when you finally take them home. They get excellent care in a private foster home in Guatemala where you may visit as many times as you'd like until the child goes home. There is a greater waiting period for girls than for boys. The cost for this program is a bit higher than domestic programs due to travel and extended foster care for the child. However, these are truly children in need and we are eager to begin serving them. Please pass this information on to any interested family and friends. We know that you, our adoptive families and professionals are the best source of referral for us.
