Judith Duncan grew up in Los Angeles, CA in a Mexican household. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She attended the University of Southern California where she earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in Gerontology. Upon her arrival to PA she began her social work career as an assessment worker at the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging where she worked for three years. During this time Judith, worked extensively with Philadelphia's elderly and their families in long term care programs that assisted in bringing each individual the best quality of life possible.
She moved to Pennsylvania in 2003 to be with her now husband of two years. Judith states that she has come to appreciate the importance of adoption programs and the life changing opportunity that they bring to so many children, from her own husband's experience. Her husband went through a step adoption when he was very young. Through adoption he felt he was able to grow up with a male figure and the love of a father.
Judith joined Adoption ARC in July 2006 as one of our birth parent counselors. She assists birth and adoptive parents through options counseling, adoption planning, community referrals and labor and delivery support. She also assists as a support bridge by organizing meetings between birth and adoptive parents to facilitate this enormous transition in both their lives.
