Birthparents

Adoption ARC believes that in most cases the birth parent(s) should provide a permanent home for the child. Therefore, Adoption ARC will provide birth families with free counseling and referrals to help keep the family intact. Sometimes, however, the birth family cannot provide a stable, safe home for the child. In such cases, Adoption ARC will offer families its adoption program. The birth family will be treated with:

• dignity
• respect
• confidentiality

Adoption ARC will provide pre-placement and post-placement counseling free of charge. The birth parent will have the opportunity to select the adoptive family, when appropriate. Adoption ARC will encourage an "open" relationship between the birth and adoptive families. We will be the arc that bridges this relationship.

Children

Every decision the Adoption ARC staff makes will have one thing in common: the best interests of the child. Adoption ARC is committed to placing children of all ages into permanent homes. Adoption ARC will assure that all children are placed with adoptive families who are equipped to preserve their cultural heritage and meet their special needs.
